Information On What is Mesothelioma

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Mesothelioma is an uncommon form of cancer, usually associated with previous exposure to asbestos. Signs and symptoms of the disease include among other things, shortness of breath and rapid unexpected weight loss as in patients with Mesothelioma, nutrients in the blood stream cannot always be absorbed resulting in malnutrition and weight loss.

Aside from Mesothelioma, these people can acquire asbestosis, a non-cancerous chronic lung sickness and other forms of cancer of the lungs, cancer of the larynx and kidney. There are treatments used to keep the patient comfortable, but there is currently no cure for mesothelioma. Erionite fibers were found in biopsies of lungs of the mesothelioma cancer afflicted people.

The physicians empaneled by mesothelioma treatment support groups analyze each patient. A legal counseling along with aid from housing, utilities, transportation, accurate medical treatment, pharmaceutical supplies and services should be the prime motto of mesothelioma support. The compensation could be millions of dollars for victims of mesothelioma who have been exposed to asbestos.

Because mesothelioma is caused by direct exposure to asbestos or asbestos dust, and nearly 30 million tons of asbestos was used in buildings of every description until the mid 1970’s, it has kept Mesothelioma lawyers in high demand, as they pursue Mesothelioma settlements for the victims and their families. Approximately 2,000 to 3,000 new cases of mesothelioma are diagnosed each year in the United States alone.

‘What is Mesothelioma’, the website contains useful resources on Mesothelioma lawyers and attorneys, as well as causes by asbestos exposure, asbestos removal, asbestos attorneys and lawsuits, and asbestos cancer. Mesothelioma thus becomes a deadly disease when no remedial measures are taken to overcome it and when exposure to asbestos is not controlled. However it would take 10-40 years after the first exposure for the first symptoms of mesothelioma to become noticeable, which made it very difficult to diagnose.

It is important to stress that once you start experiencing the symptoms of pericardial mesothelioma (shortness of breath, chest pains, coughing up blood, and palpitations) you should immediately seek specialized help. Mesothelioma can result from very small fibers or dust particles at low exposure levels. Generally, it is believed that sustained exposure to asbestos is more liable to give one mesothelioma.

Due to the difficulty of diagnosing mesothelioma in its early stages, many mesothelioma treatments focus on improving the quality of life for patients. There are many variables in evaluating a mesothelioma case, so only the patients doctor can determine the best treatment and possible prognosis on an individual basis. Pericardial mesothelioma sufferers may experience chest pain, shortness of breath, persistent coughing and palpitations.

Chemotherapy of mesothelioma is being improved regularly as research labs and pharmaceutical companies are discovering new and more effective drugs. Pleural mesothelioma: A type of lung cancer which attacks the pleura surrounding the lungs, this is the most common type of mesothelioma, affecting approximately two-thirds of all mesothelioma patients.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

All Pericardial Mesothelioma Information FAQ

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]What is pericardial mesothelioma?

Pericardial mesothelioma is a serious heart condition which consists of cancerous cells building up on the lining of the heart. Similarly to pleural and peritoneal mesothelioma, this is a terminal illness due to the importance of the area on which it grows.

What causes pericardial mesothelioma and who are most at risk?

The primary cause of pericardial mesothelioma is exposure to asbestos dust and fibers. Therefore those at risk are those who are most likely to have inhaled these deadly fibers such as construction workers and asbestos manufacturers. Those in contact with these people also have a chance of getting pericardial mesothelioma because these people may have asbestos fibers stuck to their clothes or hair.

What are the symptoms of pericardial mesothelioma?

The symptoms of pericardial mesothelioma change from patient to patient. Usual symptoms include persistent coughing, coughing up blood, shortness of breath, chest pain and palpitations. Other symptoms patients may experience are nausea, weight loss, vomiting and loss of appetite.

What are the treatments available for pericardial mesothelioma?

There are various different treatments for pericardial mesothelioma although none of these have a high success rate. Chemotherapy, radiation therapy, dual therapy and surgery are the treatment methods available. Chemotherapy includes using drugs to kill off cancerous cells and radiation therapy uses doses of radiation to kill cancer cells although this is difficult in the case of pericardial mesothelioma due to the surrounding vital organs such as the heart and lungs. Dual therapy is a treatment combining radiation therapy with chemotherapy. Surgery comes in two forms; aggressive surgery and palliative procedures. Aggressive surgery is a very difficult procedure and consists of removing large chunks of cancerous cells in an attempt to gain long term control over the cancer. Palliative procedures just attempts to lessen the symptoms for the patient.

How much exposure to asbestos is needed for there to be a possibility of getting pericardial mesothelioma?

This depends on how strong and resistant the person is to disease and on the concentration of asbestos in the environment around him. It is possible to get pericardial mesothelioma from as little as a couple of months of exposure to asbestos although on average it would take a couple of years for enough asbestos fibers to build up to cause cancer.

What is the prognosis for pericardial mesothelioma?

This is highly dependent on how early and how aggressively the cancer is treated. If pericardial mesothelioma is treated when it has fully developed and matured then the chances of a patient’s survival is very small. The prognosis could be only a couple of months.

Is there any promising research into cures for pericardial mesothelioma?

Research into cures of pericardial mesothelioma and all other forms of mesothelioma is being done in numerous research labs all over the USA. Many pharmaceutical companies are also working hard to research new drugs for chemotherapy. So far, research has been mostly unsuccessful.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

How to request an App Store refund directly from your iPhone

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Contrary to popular belief, it is possible, and relatively easy I might add, to request refunds for purchases made on the App Store. This includes both in-app purchases and regular app purchases.

Refunds on the App Store aren’t automatic, and require approval by an iTunes Support Advisor. With this in mind, it’s best to use refund requests sparingly. In my history with the App Store, I’ve probably requested a refund twice, not including today’s request, which brings the total number up to three.

It’s also possible to request your refund directly from your iPhone, which makes it super easy to initiate and complete the request as soon as you recognize you’re not satisfied with a purchase. In the post that follows, we’ll show you every step involved.

How to get a refund for an app purchased in the App Store

Step 1: go to Apple’s Report a Problem website and log in.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”1335″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Step 2: locate the purchase associated with the app that you want refunded, and tap Report.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”1336″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Step 3: select a reason for your refund request via the Choose Problem drop-down box. Note: in some regions, you may have an “I wish to cancel this purchase option”, in which case, you should use this option, which will expedite the refund process.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”1337″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Step 4: type an explanation for your issue indicating why you want a refund, and tap Submit.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”1338″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]You’ll see a message stating that an iTunes Support Advisor will contact you within 48 hours via your Apple ID email address.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”1339″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Now, it’s just a matter of waiting until the iTunes Support Advisor contacts you. In most cases, you should receive a refund. Again, be sure not to abuse this provision, and you shouldn’t have any issues with the occasional refund for an app that just doesn’t meet your expectations, doesn’t work, or doesn’t meet your needs.

For the record, FeedWrangler is a good service, but I bought it solely for the Apple Watch app, which didn’t turn out to be my cup of tea.

Have you ever requested an App Store refund? If not, did you realize it was this simple?[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”1340″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Update: I got my refund in less than 2 hours![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Next generation Google Glass unit get posted to eBay

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]A new listing on eBay appears to be for the next version of Google Glass rumored to be the successor to Google’s failed effort to create a consumer-oriented face-worn wearable device. When Google finally shutdown the old Google Glass program, there was talk then and in ensuing months about a business or enterprise focused version that would eventually be produced. The new eBay listing appears to show a device somewhat consistent with past rumors if it is indeed a legitimate listing.

The item itself merely indicates it is for a pair of Google Glass in black. No specifications are provided. However, one item that stands out in the pictures is the presence of hinges in the frames that would enable the unit to be folded and stowed a little bit easier. The ability to fold the frames was alleged to be one of the weaknesses from the first round that Google was going to address. The hinges in the eBay listing appear to be consistent with a unit spotted in an FCC filing from last year. The old style pouch that came with non-folding Google Glass units does not seem to be consistent with folding frames though.[/vc_column_text][vc_gallery type=”image_grid” images=”1315,1317,1316″ img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]The main unit itself appears to be a bit more streamlined than the original versions of Google Glass. Also apparent is a change in the charging hardware as a magnetic connector is present for the USB cable instead of a traditional microUSB slot common to many electronic devices. We can also see in one of the images the Glass logo despite some claims that Google was going to drop the name.

In addition to the questions that will arise as to authenticity, assuming this is an actual working unit, its presence on eBay raises some questions. This could be a listing by a rogue tester who is in violation of some agreements to keep things confidential, in which case they will probably be in some hot water and the listing will be pulled soon. Another possibility is that this is an older prototype and Google has moved on to other revisions and someone is just decluttering their bin of gadgetry.

Recently Google began purging itself of some Glass related social media accounts. Despite claims to the contrary, Google could be shutting down the whole effort to produce something like Google Glass even for enterprise and business users. If so, the testers may be tossing leftover hardware while they move on to other projects.

Do you think this is a legitimate set of Google Glass and if so, what do you think it means for the program?

Samsung’s new SmartThings home automation hub arrives next month

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]After acquiring SmartThings for $200 million last year, Samsung has already developed the second generation of SmartThings home automation hub and sensors. The new tech will be available in September.

Last year’s sensors will still be compatible with the new Hub, however the new hub will now be powerful enough to handle processing locally, instead of in the cloud. This will bring reliability improvements even during periods when internet connectivity is slow or completely out. More information on the new features and improvements will come in the following weeks. You can already pre-order the second-generation SmartThings Hub at $99 from SmartThings or Amazon.

YouTube not happy with T-Mobile throttling its service

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]It’s exactly what Net Neutrality and consumer advocates feared when T-Mobile introduced Binge On, the carrier’s latest Un-carrier scheme that allows customers to stream select video services — at lower 480p quality, mind you — in exchange for waiving the associated data costs on their monthly plan.

You may remember YouTube — which reportedly accounts for a 5th of T-Mobile’s cellular traffic — was strangely absent from T-Mobile’s Binge On announcement. T-Mobile said during their Q&A that this was a technical limitation of the carrier and that needed further cooperation from YouTube in identifying what was, or wasn’t, a video stream.

Now, a YouTube spokesperson tells the The Wall Street Journal the carrier has already begun throttling and/or degrading traffic to their site and mobile apps — all without their customers’ consent. This is after an advocacy group called The Internet Association (of which Google is a member) found that T-Mobile’s new practice now “appears to involve throttling of all video traffic, across all data plans, regardless of network congestion.” YouTube isn’t happy with the move and issued the following statement:[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1458414591736background-color: rgba(105,149,191,0.33) !important;*background-color: rgb(105,149,191) !important;border-radius: 1px !important;”]Reducing data charges can be good for users, but it doesn’t justify throttling all video services, especially without explicit user consent.” [/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]According to the FCC’s net-neutrality rules, internet providers cannot discriminate against traffic from some sources, while all others to flow unimpeded. This also applies to applications like YouTube which aren’t eligible for Binge On, but still have their service count against data buckets, despite streaming in 480p. While customers always have the option to disable Binge On, it’s enabled by default on 3GB+ plans, so many customers may not even know it’s active.

T-Mobile has yet to respond to YouTube’s complaints, although we don’t imagine it’ll be much longer before the always vocal CEO John Legere issues some sort of statement on his Twitter account.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
